Travel
Information relating to visiting the Isle of Wight and travelling around the island.
The Isle of Wight can be reached from the mainland via catamaran, ferry, hovercraft and airplane. On the island there is a train line to a small selection of towns, a good bus network and a large selection of taxi firms. There is a steam railway line.
If travelling with Wightlink and the weather is servere enough you will usually be taken to the Ferry terminal to travel via ferry instead of catamaran. I am unsure of the Red Funnel procedure.
There is a train line that runs from the Ryde Pier Head where the catamaran port is located. However it takes under fifteen minutes to walk down the pier.
